I should warn you upfront that I’m slightly obsessed with avocado toast - you’ll understand why as you keep reading. My busy schedule and healthy appetite led me on a quest to find a snack that is easy, healthy, and filling. Needless to say, I definitely found what I was looking for.
Studies have shown that avocados reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes and may even enhance your mood and increase your desire to exercise. Consuming bread sometimes gets a bad rap, but it's important to note that not all bread is created equal. Scientists looked at 45 studies and found that consuming whole grains is associated with a lower risk of developing chronic conditions like cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and even decreased overall mortality.
Want some more good news? It’s really easy to make and super versatile- get as fancy as you want with modifications to the recipe below! I like to change it up and play with different toppings, but even the most basic of avocado toasts will not disappoint (now can you see why I'm obsessed?).
